University College
For most students entering OU, University College is the first step on the road to graduation. The mission of University College is to assist new students in making a successful transition to the University and to help students build a solid foundation for further academic success.
As an incoming freshman Geography or Meteorology major, you will be admitted to University College until you meet requirements for admission into your degree-recommending college, the College of Atmospheric and Geographic Sciences; A&GS admission requirements are listed here: http://ags.ou.edu/academics_advising.php. Students in University College are strongly encouraged to declare a major in their freshman year.
We also encourage you to take advantage of the excellent freshman programs and services offered by University College, listed on their web site at http://www.ou.edu/univcoll/.
At the end of the freshman year, students advised through the OU Scholars Program are transferred to the degree-recommending college of their choice.
